Well, today was my last day off work. Tomorrow I get back to my routine. People sometimes ask me if I miss my job and, yes, I do miss it. Since I work with customs clearance, there are always some issue to solve and I like it. I like what I do. When that is the answer people listen to they look at me like “what the hell, are you nuts?”.
Pois é.
Oh, well, maybe.
Yesterday it was some sort of a useless day, you know? I finished unpacking and now there’s a bunch of useless paper to throw away. The best part was at night, when I was noticed I was selected for teaching International Logistics in a school from this area. Wonderful! I love sharing what I know and I’m sure it will be a very pleasant experience.
It was a very nice day today. I made myself the weird favor of waking up at 4:30a.m. and not going to sleep again. Then I started reading the magazines I couldn’t because of the trip and it was good.
Fui no cartório. Comprei um coisas no centro da cidade. Fiz as unhas (finalmente!). Almocei no centro e vim embora. Isso tudo até 13h30 da tarde. Maravilha, diz aí?
In the morning, I left lots of clothes to be fixed by a sewing man. Got some of my documents photocopied and had to made them officially recognized by the State. Bought some stuff. Had my nails done (finally!). Went back to the bank and the manager solved my problem very quickly, I didn’t even have to do what the lady told me on Monday. Went to another bank and solved everything there too. Had lunch and came back home. That was all done before 1:30p.m. Good timing, right?
Then I got home, printed some stuff, enrolled myself in a post-graduation class, made two cornmeal cakes and went to my grandpa’s birthday. Happy birthday, grandpa!
E isso tudo sem sentir sono! (Agora, sim, tô morta de sono…)
That was all done without feeling any sleep! (Now, yes, I feel horribly sleepy…)
A summary of my vacation: I met a lot of cool people, had different experiences, tasted lots of disgusting things, was really amazed about the dollar value over the past weeks, solved a lot of issues in just 3 business days and, yes, I took some rest! All I can say is that it was a period of knowledge and overcoming myself in some situations. Certainly, it was worth the pain =)
